Alexandre Gama, born within Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro on June 1, 1958, is a well-regarded advertising businessman. He’s the Founder and CEO for Brazil’s best – Neogama, one of the largest ad agencies in South America. Gama was the very first Brazilian to rise to the forefront of a world network of communication agencies upon his election to Chief Executive Officer – or WCCO – of BBH. He’s similarly the only Brazilian to be a lasting part of his country’s Global Creative Board, a committee made of six creative leaders – each from the Publicis Groupe holding company, a global network.
Gama graduated with Advertising and Propaganda degrees from Fundação Armando Alvares in Penteado – or FAAP. His ad career began in 1982 for the agency Standart Ogilvy, in which he was a writer. In 1990, he began work as a copywriter within DM9, where he stayed for another 4 years and unofficially became the most awarded copywriter in Brazil. Gama also assisted the agencies of Almap BBDO – as a partner and vice president – and Young & Rubicam – as President, CEO and CCO. Gama left Young & Rubicam shortly after, to set up his first agency, Neogama.
